Bornholm Summer 2013

This summer we decided to spend on the Baltic island Bornholm. We arrived on the 5th of March and went directly towards the south, where we wanted to stay till we start working. Thanks to the weather gods we had some nice and warm first days, before it started to cool down again so we even had to turn on the heater in the camper. But it was beautiful, the island still in its winter sleep, little by little waking up. The trees started to get leaves and the light was just incredible. Some days the beach looked like the Caribbean.

Sadly Maya wasn’t alright yet, so we had to go to the vet again, and this time they told us to castrate her, and so we luckily did, because afterwards we discovered that her ovaries and her uterus were almost rotten..it just looked awful. But she didn’t stop drinking and so we checked again if she might have the Diabetes insipidus, and yep, she does. Now she needs to get drops in her eyes every morning and evening, but at least she is fine now, drinking normal and enjoying the days on the beach.

And in July we finally opened up the surf school and started working. Slowly the tourist started arriving and we got ready for the summer. And what a wonderful summer it was so far, we got to know some wonderful people, made some new friends,  had good weather all the time through till mid-august and Patrick was giving loads of Windsurf lessons. I taught Yoga on the beach and had also some wonderful students, who hopefully keep doing Yoga still.

Now the season is almost finished, things slow down and we are already planning our trip back to Fuerte.  Stay tuned and see what happens.
