Sardinia 2010

Sardinia....what a beautiful island.

Our first trip to Sardinia we did in 2010, but it was not really planned, since we wanted to go to Greece in the first place. But this was just when in Athens all those bad things happened and so we decided to go to Italy instead.

We needed a job for the summer, so we thought, well, we have some friends in Sardinia, maybe they can help us, and since they have been talking about the place where they live, and how wonderful it is, we decided to give it a try.

So we took the ferry from the north of Sicily to Cagliari. One of the worst ferry trips ever. The Mistral was blasting and instead of being on the water for ten hours, it took us twelve to get there, me sleeping the whole time, otherwise I would have died of sea sickness.

once we got there, we discouvered a little bit the south and then went to see our friends. It was a big surprise, we didnt have any adress, but Luca explained us very clearly where he lives, so we found his house, without having to call them. The look on their faces was wonderful....last time we saw each other was in Fuerte and now we are suddelny standing in front of their door ;-)

We had some nice day together, checked around for some jobs, but Patrick and me decided to see if we might find a job somewhere else. One week later we where back at our frinds place. They where right, it paradise and we wnted to stay the summer there, with them.

Patrick got a job at a beach bar and me at a restaurant and we had a beautiful, but also exhausting summer. I had to work from 17:00 pm till late, and Patrick from 8am till 18pm....so we hardly saw each other....but it was alright. We could park our camper on the land of the owner of the beach bar, 20m away from the bar and the beach, and I could go there to visit Patrick anytime. We had water, which was freezing (7Degrees Celcius), to shower with and electricity....and we didnt have to pay for it. So it was perfect.
