Working hard

This summer is a very hot and hard working summer for both of us. The temperatures get to 40degree celcius and it is so hot that you dont even have to move to start sweating like a pig.

We really crawl from one day to the other, Patrick walking about 8km a day in the sand on the beach, bringing sunbeds and umbrellas to the people. And then working in the bar, washing up, serving people. He even almost passed out one day!!

I am doing the parking, but I must say, it seems an easy job, but its not!!!! People are acting stupid, asking you the same questions every day, the heat is unbearable and since I am not directly on the beach, there is no wind, only dust and smog. I walk under the boiling sun to help people to park their cars right, because they seem to have left their brains at home ;-)

And some days I even work at night for the dinner time, which here in Italy starts around 9pm and ends around one or two in the morning.

We work around ten to twelve hours a day, which in this heat really is a lot!!!

We are lucky that we had some days before everything started to be with our friends, relax and enjoy this wonderful place.

Now the summer is over and in the end those four month passed more quickly then we would ever have thought. Now it depends on the weather for how much longer we are going to stay here, Patrick is still working.

But it is going down every day, less people, less heat and today it is raining.

And soon we are leaving to start our trip through Sardinia, Sicily and Greece to catch the best waves of the Mediterranean and search for new spots to surf and windsurf at.

We surely cant wait......it wont be long!!!
