Summer in Switzerland

For quite a long time I wanted to go to Switzerland over the summer to work.

Some time away from the ocean, into the mountains and earning some good money to be able to travel nicely over the winter.

So 2015 was the year we decided. What we didnt know....it would be one of the hottest summers in about 30 years.....

We sent about a houndred CVs to different campgrounds all over the country, because thats where we wanted to work. Sadly nobody needed any staff for the summer but one place was telling us, if we wanted they could send our CV to the public lake bath next to them and maybe we would get lucky.

We said yes and a short time later had a contract in our hands for the summer period.

So we packed our stuff, made the camper Swiss ready (some fresh paint etc.) said goodbye to our friends and hit the road direction north....Switzerland we are coming ;-)

We got to Sempach end of April, a day before we said we would get there and suprised the owners of the campground (where we would stay over the summer) with not only coming early but also with having a dog (or Teddy.....however you want to call Maya).

First they were not really happy about it, but over the summer we started to become friends and they realized that Maya is a really easy dog.

A few days later we met with Joe (our Boss) and Oli (our other Boss) to talk about what we have to do and get all the paper work done.

And then we started to work.....the bath had to be cleaned and made ready for the opening....we had some nice days but mostly it was still cold...like 7Degrees Celcius and we tried to keep ourselfs warm with hard work and oven fries......

And then the summer started...first slowly and suddenly it hit us with over 30Degrees and no end in sight....it was hard, it was fun but mostly it was hot......

We had a great time, learned a lot, made some new friends, finally saw Switzerland and had a full winter of free time ahead of us.
